Dear Supporters, Thank you for signing!

A response has been received from Employment Tribunals Service Manager on 10 Jun 2022:

"I acknowledge receipt of your email regarding your petition.

HMCTS is keeping under review the matter of recording and provision of transcriptions in the Employment Tribunals across England, Wales and Scotland. The provision of recording equipment is a matter for HMCTS, and there are ongoing discussions with the senior judiciary about how recording and transcribing might be achieved in a manner that is consistent with the Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure.

Your request to join the national user group for the Employment Tribunals has been referred to Judge Barry Clarke, the President in England and Wales. He has asked me to inform you that the national user group is organised by reference to appropriate constituencies, which nominate representatives to attend. Among others, and by way of example, ACAS, the Law Society, the Employment Lawyers’ Association, the Employment Law Bar Association, the Discrimination Law Association, the Free Representation Unit, the Trades Union Congress and the Confederation of British Industry all nominate representatives to attend the group’s meetings. Invitations to these meetings are not extended to individual users, of whom there are many thousands in any given year. This is because the national user group is not a forum for the discussion of individuals claims or responses. Accordingly, your request has been declined. However, any individual user can submit items for consideration at national user group meetings, although whether they will be subject to discussion will depend on the topic and the time available. Furthermore, in the interests of transparency, the minutes of each meeting are subsequently published online.’’

While the 'considerations' are ongoing we must not lose momentum!

Justice Minister James Cartlidge said:

"We are investing significantly in court rooms and tribunal buildings across the country to meet the demands of our justice system.

The building’s fit-out is part of HMCTS’s £1.3 billion investment to transform courts and tribunals, ensuring they continue to deliver swift justice for years to come."[https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-building-to-modernise-london-s-tribunals
