As a devoted gamer, one of my long-held aspirations was fulfilled when I subscribed to Shadow PC. The service provided a high-quality, cloud-based PC gaming experience that was both flexible and powerful, offering what felt like an ideal environment for PC gaming enthusiasts. Recently, however, I have encountered an issue that has significantly undermined this experience. Easy Anti-Cheat, a service owned by Epic Games, has been blocking Shadow PC users, including myself, from accessing online multiplayer games.

Easy Anti-Cheat is widely implemented across many major gaming titles to combat cheating in competitive environments. While I fully support fair play and strongly oppose cheating, the blanket blocking of Shadow PC users represents a disproportionate response. This approach penalizes legitimate players rather than addressing the underlying problem. Due to its cloud-based architecture, Shadow PC may be mistakenly associated with suspicious activity, but this is not indicative of malicious intent on the part of its users. Instead, it reflects a misunderstanding of how the service operates.

The gaming community is both large and diverse, and innovative solutions such as Shadow PC exist to meet a wide range of player needs. Rather than treating Shadow PC as a potential threat, a collaborative approach should be adopted to ensure that anti-cheat systems remain effective without excluding committed and honest gamers. It is essential to find a balance in which security measures and user experience can coexist effectively.

I am calling on Epic Games to review the policies that result in the unjust blocking of Shadow PC users. Efforts should be made to improve detection systems so that actual cheaters are accurately identified, rather than indiscriminately restricting access for all users of an innovative technology.

This issue goes beyond gaming alone. It concerns community, connection, and the shared enjoyment of playing together. Many players, myself included, rely on Shadow PC to stay connected with friends and the wider gaming world. Our voices deserve to be heard and taken into account when policy decisions significantly impact our experience.
