288 Houses on Owens Road up for a second preliminary review
All, thank you for your support last August when our community stood up and let Greenville County know we opposed 288 houses on Owens and Flat Rock Roads.
We lost at Planning Commission but won with County Council when the developer was denied a sewer easement through county land. A huge shout out to Councilman Rick Bradley and Ennis Fant for their stance on that. Both Councilmen are opposed to the high density of this subdivision in our rural area.
We are at another crossroads through as the developer has offered the deal of a lifetime to a neighbor to put the sewer easement through their property. If this deal is accepted, the developer will have all the utilities they need to construct 288 houses on 117 acres and construction will start in late 2025.
Please take the time to email the following County staff and let them know you are opposed to 2025-017. Email them your road concerns. Your land use concerns. Ask them to adhere to the land use guidelines of the Piedmont Plan adopted by County Council in 2024.
Let them know that per SC Law: 6-31-70 A development agreement and authorized development must be consistent with the local government's comprehensive plan and land development regulations."
