Petition updateStop Dog Fouling in Thanet – Make TDC Enforce the PSPO and Empower CommunitiesYou’d Need a Hazmat Suit: The Dog Fouling Epidemic Across Thanet

Last week while cutting the grass at The Oval Bandstand & Lawns, you would honestly have needed a hazmat suit. The lawns were covered in dog fouling and the mower blades were literally spraying dog mess as we cut the grass.

This is not just an issue at The Oval, it is happening across Thanet. Walk down many pavements and it feels like a game of hopscotch trying to avoid dog mess. Our parks, streets and public spaces are being left covered in dog faeces while enforcement from Thanet Council remains virtually non-existent.

Why aren’t the rules being enforced?

Why are our public spaces being allowed to reach this state?

Dog fouling is not just unpleasant, it is a public health issue, particularly for children using parks and green spaces. The current situation is unacceptable and it is clear that stronger enforcement is needed.

That is why we continue to push our petition calling for Thanet District Council to properly enforce the Dog Control PSPO and work with trained community organisations to help tackle the problem.

Our local politicians need to take a stand (Our local ward councillor refused to support this petition, which is mind boggling)  and ensure our public spaces are clean, safe and respected.

Please take a couple of minutes to sign the petition and share it with friends and neighbours. The more voices we have behind this, the harder it becomes to ignore.

Together we can push for the enforcement our community deserves.
