Below is an email from another shareholder sent to Labor's Minister Albanese. There will be no defense from politiicans on either side when they say "I didn't know what was going on".

Sir,

I draw your attention to these emails I've forwarded to you.They indicate a level of concern about the  manipulation and underhand behaviour which is going on, unchecked by regulatory authorities, in our Stock market. Behaviour which is manifestly unfair to the retail shareholders and investors who are not given the privileged position these bankers, brokers, hedge funds 'et al' have.
Recent events with Reddit investors taking down short selling hedge funds demonstrate the level of dissatisfaction by the ordinary investor at the predatory market behaviour demonstrated by these big market players-[so called 'smart money'?].Selling shares you don't own in my personal view should not be allowed. Selling shares in a company in excess of the total number on issue,is downright criminal.Yet stuff like this has been going on in our share market now for seven or eight years without let or hindrance.
With recent events acting to bring all this to the general public's attention, I feel there is an opportunity for you to further differentiate Labor's policy platform from the LNP governments by focussing on its laxity in addressing this issue.An issue which has drained billions of dollars from Australia into the pockets of the very few and very rich.
 If these market manipulators were brought into line and made to conform to fair trading principles and were severely punished for any underhand behaviour,you would,I suggest, get a lot of votes from Australians who normally wouldn't vote Labor.
