The 4Corners program on the ABC this week aired an episode about Virgin Australia.  It prompted journalist Anthony Klan to say this on Twitter

All due respect but if, as a journalist, I was given 1hr of investigative @4corners TV to inform the public about @VirginAustralia
and I filed that turgid write-through I’d immediately sack myself from the ABC. This isn’t a budget issue. #auspol

It just goes to show how fake the news we are fed is. Klan has been researching Virgin Australia in depth for some time.

I also wanted to say something about that episode so I went on to YouTube where the ABC has their own channel (343k subscribers) and wrote something in the comments section. 24 hours later I went back on to see what replies there were.  I was immediately surprised to see there no replies to my comment nor were there any thumbs up or thumbs down.  This was despite all the comments around mine having thumbs up/down and I believed my comment was more provocative than most of them.

It isn't commonly known but these YouTube channels have editors who manage the comments.  The Editor of "ABC News In-depth" has performed the function "hide comment" on my comments.  This means the comment is still seen by me or any of my subscribers.  It wasn't difficult to find out the comment had been hidden.  I logged out of my YouTube account and checked the comments and my comment was not there.

I will be writing to the ABC to find out why this censorship has taken place.
