I started this petition after witnessing some of the most dedicated firearm content creators on platform X lose their monetization. These creators have committed countless hours to educate peers and the general public about firearm safety, mechanics, and history. Their content is far from promoting illegal activities or violence — it is all about safety, education, and responsible ownership.

Unfortunately, due to recent changes or oversights in X’s automated content monitoring system, these influential voices in the firearm community are being unfairly silenced. Their work is not only crucial for promoting safety but also for dispelling myths and misinformation surrounding firearms. Their demonetization is a significant blow, not only to their livelihoods but to the valuable education they provide to millions.

While statistics show that the United States alone has a massive firearm-owning population, this is a deeply global issue. Across Europe and the rest of the world, millions of law-abiding citizens legally and responsibly own firearms for sport, hunting, and historical preservation. Educational firearm content creators worldwide play a vital role in reducing accidents and promoting gun safety within strict legal frameworks. By teaching proper handling, safety, and compliance with local laws, these global creators contribute to a safer society. Demonizing this form of education does a disservice to the public well-being globally.

Our goal is to appeal to X’s moderators and decision-makers to revise their policies and systems. We ask that specific criteria be established that clearly distinguish between harmful content and that which is genuinely educational. Algorithms must be improved to flag actual threats rather than blanket blocking creators who work hard to provide accurate and responsible firearm education.
