Dear supporters,

I wanted to share a quick update.

Jim Puckett, Executive Director of BAN, posted a thoughtful public response on LinkedIn regarding the Wisetek/Iron Mountain situation.

For those not on LinkedIn, here’s Jim’s full comment:

"Thanks Kyle. We at BAN/e-Stewards are now looking into things more closely. As you know, our Standard requires e-Stewards to be NAID Certified — we have outsourced data security requirements to NAID. We did that to ensure the best available data security obligations and performance verification. If what you say is true—that the company was not properly certified to NAID when the breaches occurred—that is very concerning. Thanks for yanking the alarm cord — we are examining which Standards were violated and what will be done as a result. e-Stewards, as you may know, uniquely has a critical non-conformity policy which allows for punishing egregious Standard violations. This comes after a thorough investigation of the situation. The investigation has begun. Stay tuned. Keep up the strong advocacy on this vital issue."

I truly appreciate Jim Puckett and his attention to this matter. His willingness to engage publicly and investigate further reflects a commitment to accountability and transparency—something we all want to see more of in this industry.

More to come as we continue pushing for clarity and action.

Thank you again for your support,

Kyle
