This is PARC Against DARC, the campaign group that started this petition against the monstrous 27-dish National Park DARC radar proposal in Pembrokeshire, which is now at an incredible 18,636 signatures.

We don’t know where to start with how far it’s gone: all we can say is a massive thank you from Pembrokeshire for this absolutely incredible response to what started as just a small local campaign.

Thanks to your brilliant actions in signing, the petition has been featured on BBC Wales TV news (we’ve had three reports!), been directly mentioned in an anti-DARC Senedd statement of opinion with 18 Welsh MSs having signed it, and 20 more Westminster MPs having signed an EDM.

It now has the full party backing of Plaid Cymru, a major party that could be about to take power in the Welsh Senedd—and what’s even better, the Senedd does in fact have the power to stop DARC!

This kind of response is almost unprecedented for what started as a small local campaign like ours. We’re humbled.

But BIG NEWS everybody. We have waited all the way up until now to update on this petition, because we’re at the critical point: the final DARC planning application and public consultation are now open.

That can only mean one thing. It’s time to absolutely bombard Pembrokeshire County Council with one-click objection emails!

Now that we as PARC (Pembrokeshire Against the Radar Campaign) have high-level and full-party backing from major parties in the May 7th election in a few days—there is every chance that we can call this into the Senedd as soon as the new government is in power, override the Council, and get the proposal stopped.

While we never came into this to make it political, the way it’s gone now means that there is just no doubt about it: a vote for Plaid or the Greens in the Senedd election, if you’re in Wales right now, is a massive vote to stop Trump’s aggressive satellite-targeting DARC radar, and protect our space commons, our environment, and the world’s global security from both Trump and all the terrible US global policy that will follow on from him.
