Our family spent time outside the establishment continuing to request to take down the tipi today.
Yesterday, I mistakenly called a small victory we were informed by Kevin that there would not be alcohol being served inside the tipi. This afternoon they were indeed serving alcohol inside. I confirmed it was alcohol and informed her there is not supposed to be alcohol inside the tipi. Staff quickly asked me to leave, which I agreed and was told someone would be out to discuss….nobody came. The cops were called on us but also never came.
The line between hope and rage is dwindling. I had hope two months ago when I reached out and ever since. I even had hope when I arrived yesterday when I asked for a discussion. The expectation for our community to be empathetic to your culturally appropriative business decisions is absurd to say kindly.
Conversations have proven to mean zero and a dollar is more important than a culture.
Take it down.
