Howdy!
I just want to thank everyone who’s signed this first week this petition has been live. We’re off to a great start, but we need more signatures if we’re going to take this to city council. I’m hoping to get 10,000 signatures by the end of July. It’s a hefty number to work towards in under a month, but urgency is required when trying to stop a project already in motion.
“How can I help?”
The best way to get this petition seen is to share it daily on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and with personal friends and family members. Even if you think you don’t have a large enough platform to share this petition, if just one person sees it and thinks to themselves, “Hey, this is really concerning. I should check it out,” it’ll be one more person that is informed of what’s going on in our backyard.
I would like to add that I hope this isn’t the only action being taken against the construction and operations of xAI in Memphis. I made this petition specifically to show the Memphis that we aren’t a small minority that doesn’t want xAI in our city, and this is the first step in organizing against it. I hope that the more people talk about it, more people will be willing to take action to organize.
I am also in the process of trying to learn how to submit FOIA request (Freedom Of Information Act) so we can all learn more details on the construction of this facility from the permits submitted to the Shelby County Land Use Board. If you know how to access these documents, I highly suggest that you make copies for yourself and the media. The citizens of Memphis have the right to know what’s going on in our city, it sucks that we have to jump through so many hoops to access this information.
Thank you for reading this far into my update, and if you have any information you’d like to share in regard to this petition I’m accepting messages through email at donndelingerzoe@gmail.com.
Peace and blessings!
