A castle's "keep" includes its most valuable assets.  A thick reinforced wall, high elevation and a deep moat best protects a medieval castle.  This is how the "keep" stays safe.

In Oak Brook, the "keep" is the sportscore.  The best way to protect the sportscore is to enforce the deed.   For 50 years, through 15 past village presidents, the deed has been enforced and respected.  But current village leadership wants to change course, as explained here: 6/8/2025 introductory remarks

The proposed 30-year agreement with Chic Chef clearly violates the deed's restrictive covenants.   Once violated, future developers could seek to develop any portion of sportscore land.  The land would still be protected by zoning regulations, certain county restrictions and limited legislative judgment, but these could easily be overcome in future.  This means the land could be developed like any other suburb has been developed.  The unique character of Oak Brook would be lost.  The sportcore would no longer benefit its residents.  It would simply be another development in suburban sprawl.

What happens today will determine the future of sportscore land.  Forever.
