Need we remind everyone that the LAUSD School Board passed a resolution in 2024 to avoid co-location at

  • community schools
  • priority schools
  • BSAP schools

We check all of those boxes and we are a school with a rich history of community partnerships.

In addition, here are some of our accomplishments this school year.

  • Hawkins Cheer Squad was the ONLY South LA High School represented in the National Cheer Competition on February 14.
  • We entered our first ever Academic Decathlon Team,
  • our eSports team is 2-0,
  • the boys soccer team just won the Diamond League Championship.
  • The Girls' Basketball team is ranked #1 with home-court advantage.
  • Our Journalism/Yearbook classes will take their second annual trip to the National High School Journalism Conference.
  • Senior History classes are on their way to Washington, DC to meet history in person.
  • And students recently visited HBCU colleges in Atlanta, GA.

Are we growing? Absolutely. We are forecast to increase enrollment in 2025-2026.  Our feeder schools are also forecasted to grow in 2025-2026. We have no extra space.
