Dear Friends,

                            Regional Medical Center implemented transition of Trauma Program from level 2 to level 3 , Comprehensive Stroke Center to  Thrombectomy  capable center and Cardiology program to without STEMI  component on August 12th . This marks the end of this petition which was started on May 24,2024 .

                          We have a partial victory as due to intense agitation, HCA  announced on July 18th  that it will not close Trauma program but rather downgrade from level 2 to level 3 and  stroke program to from Comprehensive to thrombectomy capable rather than primary stroke center . This is the first time in history of HCA at RMC that they rolled back cuts in and credit goes to 9177 people who had signed the petition including thousands of physicians , nurses, ancillary medical staff, 13 professional & social organizations, prominent citizens ,politicians and coalition partners  . We would like this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude to every one  of you who signed and worked tirelessly for this noble task. Special thanks to County supervisor Cindy Chavez, Jaria Jung , Darcie Green, Aniruddh & Ankita, Peter Ortiz (San Jose council man ), Zach Contini Rep from senator Dave Cortese and Tara Sreekrishnan (SCC Borad of Education Trustee), Dr Amara Balakrishnan. Volunteers (Justin Trinh, Arjun Yadav, Shubhi Jain, Christine Vu and Meera Mallya).

                   We, the officers of the Association To Save the East San Jose Health System are dissolving the association  as purpose of this organization has been fulfilled. It had been quite busy months for all of us to volunteer and we are retiring back to our respective clinical practices, hospital and clinics. We will continue to work towards quality care at RMC and east san Jose neighborhood in collaboration with HCA, Santa Clara County and all other organizations.
