Complaint to the Charity Commissioners

The grief experienced by supporters and donors of Ellel Pierrepont, at the inexplicable decision to close down this work and sell the property, has now culminated in a formal complaint having been submitted to the Charity Commissioners.

Please join with us in prayer that the Commission will understand the issues and that as a result of their intervention there will be a new and godly way forward pioneered for the work at Pierrepont.

Yesterday Camerons Solicitors LLP, upon the instruction of Jill Southern and others, on behalf of a larger group of individuals, submitted a Letter of Complaint to the Charity Commission asking them to investigate the proposed sale of Pierrepont urgently.

The trustees of The Christian Trust (TCT) have mismanaged the charity by taking the irrational and inexplicable decision to sell the most valuable and most productive asset of TCT. The sale, if it proceeded, would be diametrically opposed to the best interests of the charity, its ability to fulfil its objects and its reputation.

None of the Trustees are independent (the majority being newly appointed and from other jurisdictions), and are inexperienced in their legal responsibilities as Trustees of a UK registered charity. All have conflicts of interests and loyalty. The sale is understood to be imminent. Hence the request to investigate urgently.

We ask you to pray that God uses this to fulfil his purpose and plan for Pierrepont and that Jill and others are covered in Gods protection and grace as this goes ahead.
