We have now passed 2000 signatures in just 6 weeks but need to keep the momentum going. Thank you to everyone that has signed and shared across social media and please feel free to share as often as you like. We recently contacted MP John Penrose to notify him of our petition and asking him to support the campaign. We received a response from Mr Penrose stating the following: 'Thank you for letting me know Bristol Children's Hospital have decided to conduct an investigation into your son's death. I'm delighted you're making progress and, clearly much will depend on whether the terms of reference of the new enquiry are strong enough.' Unfortunately since John's response, University Hospital Bristol CEO Robert Woolley has taken a U-turn on his decision and has decided to now not commission a further investigation. MP John Penrose also stated in his response: I'm also happy to discuss changes to the law with Jeremy Hunt as well although, first, we should see whether the current law allows the right kind of enquiry to be set up already, so we know specifically whether and where shortcomings may lie. Either way please let me know and we can take it from there! We feel the above response is a very positive step in the campaign and will now respond notifying Mr Penrose of University Hospital Bristols U-turn and asking can he proceed to open conversation with the Secreatary of State for Health MR Jeremy Hunt. We would like to thank you once again for your support!
