Sutton Coldfield Train Station car park charges announced

It with considerable dismay I hear that car parking charges at Sutton Coldfield train station are coming into effect from 17th August, imposed by the labour Mayor of the WMCA- without consultation- at £3 per day, in a matter of weeks during the holidays. 

Are Chester Rd and Wylde Green stations, and other stations next for charging?

This undermines promotion of public transport and I wonder if this is generation of income to offset his ideological franchising of the buses.

Anticipating this was a possibility thank you for supporting this petition which I started Dec2025 to help me defend services in Wylde Green.

Please take a few moments to share this petition while I ask the WMCA mayor for answers into why there was no consultation, where the funds will go, and guarantees that Wylde Green and Chester Rd stations are not next.

Ideally we need to get over 10,000 names to take it to a Councillor led scrutiny meeting to challenge the decision. Of each person gets nine extra names we will have enough.
