Justin Chaires

Thank you for reaching out on behalf of Change.org and the constituents who brought this petition for consideration.
I have contacted the Chief of Police and He's offered increased patrols in the Orchard Park area to help address concerns regarding the inhumane treatment of cats/other pets in the park.

Although the City does not accept surrendered cats, I strongly encourage residents to ensure that any animals they are unable to care for are surrendered through appropriate and humane channels.

Currently, the City does not have signage addressing this issue. However, I will also be reaching out to City staff to explore the development and installation of signage that addresses the concern and directs residents to the proper resources for safely and humanely surrendering pets.

Thank you again for bringing this important issue to our attention.

Yours in Partnership & Service
Councilman
Justin R. Chaires
