(full excerpt from the letter)

February 7, 2025

Dear Kristine,

Thank you for contacting me about the reports that the Defense Health Agency (DHA) is considering downgrading the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital to a clinic. I appreciate the time and effort you took to share your perspective with me on this important issue, and I welcome the opportunity to respond.

As you may know, on December 9, 2024, I wrote a letter to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin demanding that he immediately end any planned actions to downgrade Fort Leonard Wood’s hospital to a clinic. The planned downgrade of the newly-built hospital at Fort Leonard Wood is an insult to servicemembers, their families, and rural Missourians in the area. The hospital has served the community for decades, providing servicemembers and their families with necessary care. I will continue to fight for you and your families, as we work together to ensure that Fort Leonard Wood keeps its hospital status intact.

As always, I truly appreciate hearing your concerns. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future on other issues important to you and your community. It is a privilege to be your voice in Congress. If you would like to get regular updates on my work in the Senate, please visit my website at www.hawley.senate.gov or follow me on social media at @SenHawleyPress.

Sincerely,
