Well, we have some very exciting news to share with all you lovely people! We have now set a date for the handing over of this petition to ECan, on behalf of the people of Aotearoa! This event is open to ALL our SUPPORTERS, and your friends and family! Consider this as your very own invite - for signing one of the largest environmental petitions, in New Zealand. Yes, you guys are truly awesome!!! Please, come one - come all - to our public supporters’ rally. All event details are listed below, or you can click on the link below to visit the Facebook event, and mark yourself as “GOING”! Woo hoo! Then you’ll receive event updates ahead of time, and you’ll know what to bring with you. Event details; When: Friday, April 27 @ 12pm (midday), Where: Environment Canterbury Offices (ECan) 200 Tuam St. Christchurch CBD. With regards to the legal proceedings, which Aotearoa Water Action (AWA) has served on ECan, we have, with the help of you all, raised close to $24,000 towards legal costs. That’s simply fantastic! HOWEVER, there’s still no rest for us. WE still need to raise at least another $15,000 to make this happen, and we can’t do this without our network of amazing supporters. Once again - please share this far and wide... and pledge if you can. Pledging options include: Donate BY DIRECT CREDIT TO: AOTEAROA Water Action: Kiwibank: 38-9019-053-0141-00 Or head to our PledgeMe page: https://www.pledgeme.co.nz/projects/5556-bottle-off-stop-the-belfast-bottling-plants Remember, the more we make, the bigger the chance of making things right., and holding ECan accountable for allowing these consents to proceed. Don’t forget, we are here for all New Zealanders, so the more funds we have in the bank, the more cases we can take on in the future, nationwide. In doing all of this, you’re truly supporting our land, it’s people, and our right to clean, drinkable water. Genevieve.
