💙 Thank You for Standing Up for Food Access in Atlantic Station
To everyone who signed and shared this petition — thank you.

Your voices made something very clear:
food access matters, and our community cares deeply about protecting it.

Over the past several days, residents, community leaders, and city partners have been actively engaged in conversations to address the sudden closure of the Publix at Atlantic Station. These discussions are ongoing, and while there are no final outcomes yet, we want to share where things stand.

First, we want to be clear about our intent.

This effort has never been about blame or conflict. It has always been about care — care for seniors, families, people with disabilities, residents without cars, and everyone who relies on walkable access to groceries in our neighborhood.

Because of your advocacy:

City leadership is engaged and aware of the urgency.
Property management and economic development partners are actively exploring both short-term access solutions and long-term grocery replacement options.
Conversations are underway with multiple potential grocery operators.
The community’s expectations for transparency, communication, and continuity of food access have been clearly heard.
We know how stressful and unsettling this moment is — especially with the store closing so soon. Please know that community leaders are pushing for:

Interim grocery access options during any transition period
Clear communication and regular updates
A committed path toward restoring a full-service grocery store
This petition helped elevate the issue quickly and responsibly. It ensured that decision-makers understood the real human impact — not just the logistics.

What happens next:

We will continue to share updates as conversations progress
We will keep advocating for solutions that center residents’ needs
We will remain focused on collaboration and outcomes
Thank you for showing up with urgency and respect.
Thank you for caring about this community.
And thank you for helping ensure Atlantic Station is not left without the essentials people need to live well.

This is not the end of the conversation — it’s the beginning of a better one.

With gratitude,
Atlantic Station Civic Association
