Anna Netrebko, a prominent supporter of Vladimir Putin and pro-Russian separatists, is set to perform at the Royal Opera House.
The Royal Opera House is not listening
We firmly oppose the exploitation of culture as a vehicle for war propaganda. Prominent Russian cultural figures like Netrebko are being utilised to legitimise aggression and obscure war crimes.
WHY THIS MATTERS:
1. Anna Netrebko will perform at the Royal Opera House on September 11th. She is not merely a soprano; she is a known supporter of Putin who has expressed admiration for Russian separatist leaders.
2. Russian culture is being leveraged to normalize war and occupation. Netrebko has played a significant role in reshaping this narrative globally, and we must not allow it to persist.
Join us outside the Royal Opera House on September 7th, the weekend prior, to protest her appearance and stand against cultural complicity in genocide.
Stand with us in solidarity with Ukraine and for the good of culture
