Thank you Changemakers for supporting this petition so far. Our voices have continued to be amplified as evidenced in the recent developments in the issuance of US visas in Kenya. In an article published by the Sunday Nation on 7 August 2022, the US Embassy promised to do all it can to shorten the wait times for US visa applications which currently stand at a little less than two years.

This is a great move which we applaud the US Embassy for. We also hope that the new US Ambassador to Kenya, Margaret Whitman, follows through on the reforms. To hold these authorities accountable for their word, we cannot sit pretty on our laurels. We therefore urge you to continue to vote for and share this petition until the US Embassy has fully made good on its promises.
