Dear Petition Supporters,

A sexual assault survivor is speaking out about porn-themed advertising displayed at Honey Birdette which objectifies women and is dangerous to minors. She should know.

“This is a form of pornography that simply should not be allowed within a shopping centre environment."

“Do whatever you want to do inside the shop. As a sexual assault survivor who was forced to view pornography by my assailant as a child, I understand what normalising it can do to a young girl’s self esteem, body image and future relationships,” she said.

Honey Birdette have breached Ad Standards code of ethics 26 times since 2010. Yet they pay lip service to Ad Standard rulings, replacing banned images with ones just as bad every single time. That is why we need Westfield and other shopping centres with a Honey Birdette to take action. 

These shopping centres cannot remain silent when their centres facilitate a form of sexual harassment and abuse that harm women and children especially deeply.
