Petition updateSTOP Honey Birdette using porn-style advertising in your family friendly shopping centres. The System is Broken

As you know from the last update, Westfield say they are "not in a position to implement the changes suggested", and they rely on the rulings of the ASB. The ASB on the other hand rely on consumers like us to lodge complaints which they sit and deliberate on for 3 months. In the meantime, the demeaning, inappropriate ad is up for all to behold in a family friendly shopping centre.
Like the attached article says so succinctly, advertisers like Honey Birdette exploit loopholes and lag times. The ASB have been doing this for 40 years and Westfield are cosily comfortable with this status quo - one organisation palming off responsibility to the other.
Last Friday, my friends at Collective Shout called for a day of Action where they encouraged supporters to call and write into Westfields. Westfield switchboard got jammed and no more calls could be taken. #BoycottWestfield is actually a thing now. Plenty of reports that HB had promised to amend some of their more "provocative elements", but to date, no change, so we need to keep up the pressure. We know that they are especially sensitive to consumer sentiment leading up to Christmas so we are contacting the neighbouring stores, but feel free to call and make complaints directly. For example, one supporter complained to the real Santa photobooth operator who in turn complained to Westfield management because Honey Birdette's horny Santa ads were only 10m away.
So, why do we allow this? We've been lulled into believing that the status quo of a self-regulated ASB is effective, and operators like Westfield are then given an excuse to not do anything. These organisations spend many thousands of dollars on expensive reports to justify the status quo, but they have not taken into account the experience of the people who are actually affected. The system is broken and it needs to change.
So, if you'd like your opinion on the matter to be respectfully heard and facilitate change, here are a few useful email addresses for you to write to or call.
