Message from the organizer.

"Saturday, November 23rd at 2pm we lost the lives of 3 beautiful souls due to a tragic railroad crossing car accident. This accident is NOT the first to occur, nor will it be the last if no action is taken. The lives of 2 young boys (being 8yrs and 10yrs old) and their grandmother (58yrs) while heading to a weekend camping outing occurred because of blatant negligence to vital and necessary safety precautions which have been neglected by the FDOT on numerous occasions.

The state of Florida collects endless tax revenue on our earnings via numerous taxes. Supposedly under the guise of public safety (etc) is to validate such encroachment. Yet, this is not the first fatal accident to occur at this intersection. The state throws blame at the railroad company while the railroad company throws blame at the state. Nothing gets done! Here we are, with 3 more dead because of CRIMINAL negligence to not correct the problem. 

The objective of this petition is to get it on the desk of those who have the power and authority to FIX this blatant negligence so this sort of accident does not occur again. Please, take the time to sign this petition. We want this on the desk of our Governor of Florida so that proper safety infrastructure is installed at ALL railroad crossings. Not just those in the more urban area only. 

We pay PLENTY of taxes! We do NOT need any additional tax propaganda to sell the need for this BASIC necessity. We, as Floridians, DEMAND this! Let our voices be heard! Please, follow thru and sign below..."
