Senator Debbie Mayfield will be joined by Senator Gayle Harrell as Mayfield makes a major announcement in the cause to make all railroads in Florida safe, particularly those on the FEC corridor. A number of officials from the region have lent their support including Representatives Magar and Altman.

Working with elected officials around the Treasure and Space Coasts, the Alliance is raising awareness of the EIGHTY NINE (89) people who have died on Florida’s railways since January 1, 2018. 51 of those deaths involved Virgin Trains and FEC trains in just 20 short months. These numbers reinforce the fact that Florida’s railroads are the most dangerous in the country based on total track miles.

The elected officials will speak and answer questions about their concerns for Floridian’s safety and their recent efforts to call on the Governor for his help in Making the Trains Safe.
The Alliance will discuss its recent letter to the leadership of the Florida Transportation Commission. We will also announce our name change and new 501 C4 nonprofit status.
