Florida NOT All AboardEast Coast, FL, United States

We always claimed All Aboard Florida/Brightline had very rosy ridership figures. The Mayor of Delray Beach has dubbed Brightline - "ghost trains" as the ridership appears very low. Brightline/AAF is trying to lure passengers with low fares, but yet Mayor Glickstein says the trains are "mostly empty." Communities are now fearing quiet zones may actually cause more deaths and statistics prove this to be true. The Federal Railroad Administration studied this issue, and the “FRA found there were almost three times more collisions after the whistle bans were established, a 195 percent increase.” Nineteen people died and paid with their lives, and 59 people were injured in 115 crossing collisions in the FRA study in Florida in 1984. Please follow this link to the entire study. http://www.floridanotallaboard.net/news/fra-study-on-the-safety-of-quiet-zones/ Read the story below for the story of quiet zones and ghost trains.
