Good News for Adult Swimmers!

We had a productive meeting with Places Leisure this week, and there's positive news for adult swimmers!
What we learned about schedules post-Covid:
- There was high demand for lessons: That surge in swimming lesson sign-ups impacted pool schedules
- Shifting usage: The number of over-60s using facilities decreased
- Swimming memberships remained static
Adult Swimmers: Make Your Voice Heard
Adult swimmers are a minority group so it's important to speak up! Here's why:
- Collective voice matters: Don't assume you're alone. Together, we can ensure adult swim times are prioritised
- Speak up now: The longer we wait, the harder it will be to reclaim pool access
The Future Looks Bright
Places Leisure understands our concerns and acknowledges there has been a drop in lesson demand. This means there's an opportunity to adjust schedules in favour of adult swimmers.
Expected Changes
Pool timetables will be reviewed with the goal of offering earlier swim times for adults starting in September.
Empowering Each Other
Let's spread the word! Talk to other adult swimmers and encourage them to contact their local leisure centre. Together, we can make a difference!
Remember, change is possible!
