The petition was delivered by email last night to all five advertising sites: Pets4Homes, Gumtree, Preloved, Shpock and Friday-Ad.

The message was also tweeted to them today. Please RT if you have a Twitter account:

Shpock tweeted back and said they cared about animals and that their platform helps people find a loving home for the pets they have to give away in certain circumstances

Shpock is playing the charity card! The majority of pet adverts on Shpock are clearly from breeders or private sellers who breed deliberately to make a profit.

Meanwhile pets are being abandoned.

A few days ago, 8 puppies were found abandoned in cages in three different locations.

Today 4 cats were found in a park in taped up cardboard boxes and taken to the RSPCA. This comes a few days after kittens were found in industrial bins.

Also recently, rabbits were found dumped in cardboard boxes at vets and on someone’s doorstep.

The rescue centres are already busy dealing with those cases of abandoned and unwanted animals…and dreading the Christmas aftermath.

Allowing pets to be advertised for sale at this time of year is unethical.

We just need another 450 voices to take us to 100,000 signatures! So close!!

Please share and tweet if you can.

Thank you again for speaking up!
