MARLEY AND GARRY - CHANGE IS NEEDED
This petition for change is in honour of Marley and Garry, 2 cavoodle dogs stolen from a secure yard and from a loving family home, microchipped, registered and collars with name and phone numbers
After having two of our family members stolen and enduring the heartache and the devastation. We want to have any other families in the future to have the support and urgency in investigation into the theft by authorities- they are more then just a pushbike or a plant from the garden - they are family !
We believe that when family pets have been stolen it should be treated as theft of family members and not material possessions only.
Therefore we call on the minister for the Hunter, Scot McDonald
"We, the signatures to this petition, call on the State Government of NSW to elevate the status of registered, stolen dogs, above the level of ordinary possessions, and implement special procedures for searching for, recording and notifying the community of them, as well as introducing special penalties for offenders who steel them"
Families who have had fur family members stolen require support and all measures possible taken to investigate the events of the theft
