Bandeath Stray Dog Shelter is not only a facility which cares for and reunites or rehomes stray dogs. Bandeath is a lifeline to so many people.
Many people with a huge range of personal hardships find Bandeath as their lifeline.
These include
Mental health issues
Physical disabilities
Recovering from serious illnesses ie Cancer
People who are lonely and disconnected from their communities
Children with disabilities
Children who are autistic and cannot connect with the world.
And many more...
These people find peace and sanctuary at Bandeath being able to spend time with these stray dogs.
If Bandeath closes in December, what will happen to the people in our communities who gain so much from the Bandeath dogs. The autistic children, who through no fault of their own, struggle everyday and are unable to socialise, they make progress by going to Bandeath. They learn to communicate with the dogs and most of all, they enjoy it.
Yesterday we had a couple of councillors got to Bandeath to meet the staff and the dogs. They had a great visit now they know what is at risk of being lost.
We would like to ask many more councillors to arrange to go along to Bandeath, meet the dogs, see for your own eyes the good that is being done there everyday.
The shelter is a lifeline to the stray dogs of Forth Valley and the dogs are a lifeline to the people
