Stalybridge is surrounded by beatiful greenery (greenbelt) it has up to now been protected...the government wants to build on these greenbelt areas with very expensive houses which will not help the housing crisis...there are areas round town that could be built on but the local council seem to be ignoring this.we already are suffering with horrendous traffic problems ...waiting lists for doctors a hospital that is struggling to cope...schools filled to capacity...and flooding issues that will be made worse by building on the green belt...sidebottam fold needs to be protected...apart from the practical problems we face...wild life will be slaughtered...dog walkers...horse riders ...ramblers etc will lose out ...please help us by signing this petition...thankyou.
