There is a person I love so very much at the centre of this nightmare. My heart is breaking.
Please help our family to put the spotlight on what is being done to my son.
There is nothing set up to protect our vulnerable people and families against the abuse of power.
My son was admitted into the mental health system to receive care and support, instead it’s destroying him and trying to rip all feelings of safety and protection away from him.
We are following all processes and have full support of his regular private psychiatrist, plus all of his other supports. However sadly during this process, we are becoming more aware of the power that is held by psychiatrists in the public mental health system with no accountability.
I NEED TO HIGHLIGHT, SO THE PUBLIC IS JUST AS AWARE AS I WAS MADE TODAY... THE OFFICE OF THE CHIEF PSYCHIATRIST WILL NOT ACT TO PROTECT INDIVIDUALS IN PSYCHIATRIC CARE FACILITIES!!!
They simply look into the overall care and standards... excuse me if I’m struggling to work out how they become aware of issues in these facilities and address them, if they are not dealing with what’s happening to people on an individual basis.
My son not just a number or a statistic... he is a person! Who is even protecting his basic human rights, amongst all the other injustices that he is being subjected to???
