We are really starting to get some serious numbers, and quickly. When Save The Great South Bay started some ten weeks before Sandy, no one could ever have imagined we'd be this far along towards bringing our bay back. Sandy brought the breach, which showed us what we lost and what the bay could be again, and it brought us together. As we continue to rebuild from that storm and prepare ourselves for future storms, we have all come to realize that a healthy bay is part of that preparation. Healthy marshes, eel grass and shellfish beds will improve coastal resiliency, but that has to begin with clean water. Getting The South Shore sewered is crucial to this.
