Demand Apple Remove dangerous "ex-gay" app from Apple Store
This petition made change with 356 supporters!
If you're looking for an inspiring holiday gift, how about an app from Living Hope Ministries to "Pray Away the Gay"?
The Apple Store is now peddling an outrageously offensive "ex-gay" app that targets "Youth and Young Adults" to change from gay-to-straight through prayer and therapy.
The app falsely portrays being gay as an "addiction", "sickness", and "sin". The American Psychiatric Association warns that attempts to change one's sexual orientation can lead to "anxiety, depression, and self-destructive behavior," including suicide. Why would Apple allow its online store to be used as a platform to promote such dangerous, homophobic garbage?
Please demand that Apple immediately remove this bigoted and hateful app from its store.
This is not the first time Apple has had to confront this issue. In 2011, Truth Wins Out launched a Change.org petition that gathered almost 150,000 signatures to successfully remove the Exodus "ex-gay" app from the Apple Store. Let's demand that Apple does the right thing again, so LGBT youth won't be tormented by hateful bigots and bullies.
