Monday night Donald Trump committed a dictatorial act the likes of which have not been seen since the Nixon Administration. After Attorney General Sally Yates refused to defend Trump’s executive order banning Muslims from seven Muslim-majority nations from coming into our country, Trump hand-delivered a scathing letter “firing” her for “betrayal.” What Donald Trump does not understand is that Attorney General Yates’ loyalty is to the United States Constitution, not to his childlike whims or the machinations of Steve Bannon. In an equally reckless move, Trump also replaced the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Daniel Ragsdale, with Thomas Homan. These are not the actions of a President who will listen to the American people and respect our Democratic process. These are the workings of an authoritarian who has no respect for our system of government and will not stop until he has his way. Call your members of Congress immediately and tell them that they must do whatever they can to obstruct the Trump/Bannon agenda or you will never vote them back in office.
