Problem
The problem in Austin is homelessness is growing and the prices of Austin's housing is most of the time a price that Austinites can't afford to pay. With the prices of housing rising more everytime another person comes into Austin Austinites are getting forced out of their homes and left on the street or they either are getting pushed out of Austin and moving away to cheaper places. This is a problem that has been going on for too long and hasn't changed.

Solution
With this petition, we plan to send to the mayor of Austin so he can realize that affordable housing is necessary for Austin. We plan for the mayor to send people to build more homeless shelters and affordable apartments in the empty lots that overcrowd Austin. With the new buildings, we hope for the amount of homelessness and families and people being forced out of their homes.

Personal story
Every day I see a homeless person and they all have the same story they don't have enough money to buy a house. Some people have their families outside with them asking for spare change and some people have pets. It breaks my heart to see people who don't have the finances to choose between where they are going to stay for the night or what they're going to eat. I hope with the support of others we can make a change in Austin for the better.
