Tell Travis County NO to route F as permanent road in Steiner.

The Issue

Please only sign this petition if you live in Steiner. We don't want our numbers skewed.

This petition is to show Travis County that majority of people that would be affected by route F as a permanent road do NOT want it.

  • It would impact children that play at the park and kids walking and riding their bikes to school. These elementary kids are inside of the 2 mile rule for bus transportation by the district. THIS is Safety issue for our kids.
  • This road would go through a current green belt with wildlife and trails that the entire neighborhood uses.
  • It would run right next to a current park that is heavily used. Creating a huge safety issue for kids and families that use the park.
  • This road would run behind homes that people paid premium lot prices for to have green belt behind their homes, negatively impacting their home values.
  • It would negatively impact the current roads by adding 1000s of extra cars a day on roads that weren't designed to be used as major thoroughfare.
  • Road could open door for unwanted development along the road in years to come. Once this road is built someone will develop on it.
  • The road solves no current problem for the neighborhood. It simply dumps cars on to 620 (without a light) to sit in traffic. There is no traffic problem inside of Steiner if 620 is moving. Our traffic is caused by 620 not moving.
  • As an evacuation route it runs directly through where the fire was in Steiner, if this road had been here then it would not have been able to be used.
  • What benefits the neighborhood is a comprehensive evacuation plan which involves Emergency services, traffic light control, counter flow of traffic and staggered evacuation of the neighborhood.
  • Considering the cost of this plan 7-10 million dollars, it should be used for more beneficial plan.
