The travel ban between Sweden and countries outside of Europe for long-term couples has gone on far too long. The ban was created in order to stop the spread of Covid-19 by stopping non-essential travel, but long distance relationships and family connections have been hurting since March. We watch idly as more and more countries open up around us. There is misinformation that Sweden is one of them, but Swedens official stance still does not allow couples in.

While the general ban was and still is important, it is clear that with proper testing and/or mandatory quarantine, essential travel is possible. Denmark, Norway, Austria, Iceland, Netherlands, Czechia, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Finland have all allowed relationship exceptions and have systems in place that really do work. Please follow their example and let us reunite!
