Fans of Station 19 and Brett Tucker and his Character Chief Lucas Ripley endured a major heart ache when Ripley was killed off on Season 2 Episode 15 titled Always Ready which aired May 2nd 2019. We first met Chief Lucas Ripley in Season 1 Episode 6 titled Stronger Together which aired April 19th 2018 and we immediately fell in love with his strong will, his love for his job. Fans watched as Ripley is trying to regain friendship with Captain Robert Sullivan who years ago were best friends. We fell more in love with him when we first saw sparks fly between him and Victoria “Vic” Hughes in Season 2 Episode 4 titled Lost and Found which aired October 25th 2018 and watched their relationship remain a secret and bloom into a true and pure love. They even were known to fans as #vicley. Fans of #vicley saw just how much he cared about Hughes during Season 2 Episode 12 titled When It Rains, It Pours! when Hughes on her way home sick witness a car crash and stops to help but try’s to call it in but her phone dies only for Ripley to be at the Station when the call for help comes in and realizing that the call was from Hughes number and goes with the team to find her. #vicley fans held their breath along with Hughes during Season 2 Episode 14 titled Friendly Fire when the Station 19 team assisted Station 42 with a fire that has escalated at a coffee plant. When the Captain of 42 becomes stuck under a beam and bags Ripley pulls rank and runs into the fire rescue a coworker leaving Hughes outside waiting and worrying and along with Hughes lets out a sigh of relief when Ripley comes out with the Captain of 42. Fans of #vicley see just how much Hughes loves Ripley when she walks up to him and says he could have died and in the moment asks Ripley to marry her for real. Our hearts were happy when we saw Ripley buying flowers for Hughes to tell her he wants to spend the rest of his life with her but our hearts stopped when he was discovered by Grey Anatomy doctor Levi Schmitt lying on the sidewalk outside the flower shop unconscious. So fans tuned into Season 2 Episode 15 titled Always Ready which aired May 2nd 2019 as Ripley was still unconscious as he arrived at Grey Sloan and watched as he regained consciousness and asked for Hughes. We watched and held our breaths when he was told he has a heart condition while waiting for his test results and no one was looking he tool off to find Hughes to explain to her why he didn’t show up at. Sullivan calls him to tell him his test results are back and he had been exposed to Hydrofluoric Acid at the Coffee Plant fire and it was in his lungs and with his weakened heart it could move fast and be deadly he agreed that since he was so closes to Seattle Presbyterian Hospital he would go there only if he finds Hughes and bring her to him. Once Hughes gets to the hospital Grey Anatomy doctor Maggie Pierce who treated Ripley at Grey Sloan informs both Hughes and Ripley’s sister that he is not responding to treatment and is dying and they should say their goodbye. #vicley hopes of seeing a happy ending for Ripley and Hughes as they were wanting to get married and no longer be a secret crushed as Ripley and Hughes express their love to each other and proclaim that they want to spend the rest of their lives with each other. #vicley fans endure the heartache and grief that Hughes walks out of the room to find a line of her friends and fellow coworkers holding vigil for Ripley and knows by the look on her face that he is gone and watch as she walks away in shock. Us #vicley fans are also in shock and want Station 19 writers and producers to reconsider and find a way to bring Brett Tucker back as Lucas Ripley. If they need ideals of how to bring him back us #vicley fans will be happy to give you some as we want to see #vicley and Ripley return to our screens on Thursday nights. So I ask that you sign this petition showing support to #vicley and Brett Tucker.
