Currently, there is not much being done to combat the battle of opiate addiction or detox in the Staten Island area and other areas. People have gone to hospitals wanting to detox and needing help but are turned down because they are not under the influence of alcohol or benzodiazepines. This needs to change. More needs to be put in place and we are trying to change that.
