An Akron resident recently posted a video on social media skinning his Pit mix dog alive. While the perpetrator has been arrested & charged with cruelty, Ohio law is woefully lax regarding same.  He'll face a 5th degree felony with a maximum of 1 year jail time.  Unfortunately, unless laws are brought up to speed, he'll probably only get a slap on the wrist & 6 months of community service.  Ironically, those 6 months will  likely involve volunteering in county-sponsored animal shelters. The dog died a very slow & painful death due to massive hemorrhage at the hands of this evil person.  Please sign this petition to make changes at the Ohio State level to ensure NO other pet will need to endure this type of horrific abuse!
