The #ZumaMustFall petition is now sitting at over 170 000 signatories.
To clear up some confusion, I have no political affiliations nor is the petition aligned with any political party, movement or March.
I am an individual South African fighting for a better South Africa.
In a media statement released yesterday, the public protector Adv Thuli Madonsela announced that she has decided to distance herself from the petition.
I originally addressed the petition to the public protector as my belief was, and still is, that she has been an independent and vocal voice for challenging everything wrong with this corrupt government, and the duty of her office is to investigate public complaints about government services or conduct.
After communicating with Adv Thuli Madonsela, last week Sunday, I was told that constitutionally she couldn't do anything directly, but she undertook to forward the petition to parliament & the president, as is her mandate.
I am currently in talks with numerous people to ascertain who the correct person is, for the petition to be addressed to, to ensure it reaches the right people, that need to understand how the South African public feel.
A petition had no legal effect, but the signatures of people on any petition represents a moral force, and creates a much needed critical mass around the true sentiment of South Africans; irrespective of race, political alignment or social standing, and as in the past... lone voices can, and will change the future of our great country.
