Relocate Agile Wallabies in Trinity Beach!

The Agile Wallaby Project has been fighting for a relocation permit from State Government for over a year now. The innocent wallabies at Trinity Beach, Cairns, have had their habitat taken away from them by encroaching development. They're now forced to live in residential back-yards, sporting precincts and limited space next to the highway.

THIS CANNOT GO ON! WE NEED TO COME TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY AND SAY "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH". In only 6 months, we've lost 301 wallabies from the Northern Beaches population. THIS IS AN UNNATURAL MORTALITY RATE. Most have died from being too close to roads (hit by cars). The Agile Project's volunteers have attended each and every one of these deaths and it's honestly the most heartbreaking scene. Everyone in our community has to witness the horror and yet, State Government (Department of Environment and Science) still aren't taking action!

The Agile Project have offered a viable solution that will cost them nothing. Relocation. Our project has even been approved by the International Humane Society! This relocation would not only save our beautiful wallabies BUT ALSO has the potential to save hundreds of other macropods (including Kangaroos) around Australia. It would set an important precedent for wildlife management and pave the way to a more sustainable environment.
