Greetings everyone,
April was a difficult month. On the final day of Autism Acceptance Month, I would find myself the victim of blatant, hateful autism prejudice yet again. But I'm trying to remember what a wise mentor once taught me - never let the low standards, bigotry, prejudice, and malice of others dim your inner light. Because if you do that, they truly win. So I'm not going to let them win.
The California Victims Compensation Board (Cal VCB) will soon be required to provide public records regarding potential indicator of illegality, waste, inefficiency, and impropriety. Upon receipt and analysis, I intend to share these records. More importantly, Cal VCB is now under investigation by the California Civil Rights Department. The investigation is underway! If you have any information about any of the aforementioned conduct by Cal VCB, please feel free to contact me.
One last thing - as you might have seen, we are almost at 1,000 signatures! As of the writing of this update, 874 signatures! We've had at least two different candidates for United States Representative and one LA mayoral candidate sign the petition! Keep up the amazing work everyone. Please, send this petition to everyone you can. Donate if you can.
We are almost at 1,000 signatures. Upon reaching 1,000 signatures, Change.org will personally reach out to Governor Gavin Newsom and AG Rob Bonta. That they are not required to respond. But given the severity and pervasiveness of Cal VCB's conduct, it would not be wise to ignore us.
In short, 874 people have come forward, asking that Cal VCB be investigated. Can you help me 126 more signatures? Not for me - for every survivor of violence.
