
Dr. Jen Daffin, Chair of Psychologists for Social Change Cymru (Wales), submitted formal letters to Alun Jones, Healthcare Inspectorate Wales and Mr. Vaugh Gething, Minister for Health and Social Services as "concerned Clinical Psychologists, Therapists and Counsellors regarding the use of ECT within our mental health services in Wales."
In the letter, she included the letter written by 40 mental health professionals, researchers, ECT recipients and their family members sent to Peter Wyman, Chair of [UK's] Care Quality Commission to request that ECT be immediately suspended throughout the NHS pending research to determine its efficacy and safety."
