Appeal for Rebecca Ayebazibwe's Reconstruction Surgeries Opportunity

Our Dear Supporter,

Please allow me to share about Rebecca, one of the acid attack patients who have been on my heart the past two years, as they go through recovery and rebuilding their lives.

Rebecca Ayebazibwe is a 26-year-old acid attack survivor and a mother from the western region of Uganda. Rebecca was attacked at her retail shop on 15/July/2018 at 9:00 PM by an unknown person who was never identified. With support from generous donors, CERESAV has been supporting Rebecca since she was admitted to Mulago burns hospital. She went through successful skin grafting surgeries and healed progressively well but was left disfigured and visually impaired. After her discharge, CERESAV continued to facilitate her hospital review visits and medication.

I continue to reach out to potential support organizations to aid survivors' reconstruction surgeries. Two years ago, you supported Kato's medical trip to India together with his caretaker and today Kato is a happy young man who has reintegrated back into the community.

I am pleased to share that Rebecca has been offered an opportunity to go for facial reconstruction in the United States of America. While her surgeries and other medical expenses will be sponsored, Rebecca needs a passport and visa to be able to travel. She will also need support for her baby while she is gone for surgery. Because she is visually impaired, she will need to travel with an aid/caretaker. Rebecca and her caretaker will need funds for day to day feeding and basic necessities.

I am appealing to you to please support Rebecca’s dream with your generous donation. The goal is to raise USD 5000 to be able to take care of Rebecca’s needs for a successful trip to rebuild her life.
