In June, HCMC officials called off an event organized by hospital employees who invited a local Palestinian doctor to speak.

One of the organizers of the event, Eiko Mizushima, is pushing back on the hospital claims that the event was “co-opted“ by activists. Instead, she says, the hospital blocked discussion of a crisis in Gaza that affects healthcare providers around the world.
