Sadly my fears are fast becoming reality.
The Live Export industry is once again being forgotten about. Unless we are constantly reminded with horrendous footage, the majority of us have such busy lives and other pressing problems that we tend to forget the animals. I have been preoccupied lately with other problems but the Live Export Animals still haunt my sleep most nights.
I definitely do not want the animals to be forgotten, so I’m here to remind everyone that beautiful, innocent animals are leaving our shores constantly and being sent to an unimaginable horror.
I have the PROTEST MARCH / AWARENESS DAY organised for the 2nd of November at 0915 from Martin Place (between Elizabeth Street and Philip St), we will then march to Town Hall with the banners and placards I have. Once there we will distribute flyers and have an information day for the public to learn about the horrors of Live Export. If anyone can advertise the protest I have A4 posters. I have advertised it with the AJP, Animals Australia and I’ve sent a number of A4 posters to various veterinary surgeons in the Sydney area and beyond. I have asked other orgs to advertise but some cannot or will not. I’m still selling vinyl stickers that have a clear picture of a dehydrated lamb struggling for breath onboard a death ship and the words Stand Against Live Export (Please see picture). Senator Mehreen Faruqi continues to try and have this petition allowed to be submitted to the senate, it’s obvious many members do not want it back on the radar so hopefully Mehreen will be successful.
If you have spare time you may consider doing a hand written letter to the PM, Bridget McKenzie or maybe your own local member of parliament. I know most of this may seem fruitless but that is exactly what they want us to feel so we stop annoying them.
I know I WILL NEVER GIVE UP, I hope YOU don’t either xx
STAND AGAINST LIVE EXPORTS!
